HISTORY
Hedson’s journey began in Vänersborg, Sweden, in 1967, under the name Infrarödteknik AB (IRT). The mission was clear from the start: develop smarter infrared curing technology to dry and cure automotive paint and industrial coatings faster, more evenly, and with greater energy efficiency. Early innovations, including gold-coated reflectors for optimized heat distribution, helped set new standards for automotive workshops and industrial applications worldwide. Over time, IRT became a recognized pioneer in infrared curing systems, supporting body shops and manufacturers in improving productivity and reducing downtime.
In 1999, the Hedson brand was formed when IRT merged with Drester, founded in 1978, and a global leader in spray gun cleaners and wheel washing systems – known for Swedish innovation, patented solutions, and certified products with outstanding reliability and performance.
In 2005, the German company Herkules, founded in 1974, joined the group. With its advanced pneumatic lifting equipment and ergonomic workshop solutions, Herkules strengthened Hedson’s position as a complete supplier of collision repair equipment and automotive workshop solutions. Becoming part of the Indutrade Group further expanded Hedson’s international presence while preserving its entrepreneurial culture and customer-focused approach. From the beginning, Hedson has been driven by practical problem-solving. By listening closely to workshop professionals, continuously refining technology, and focusing on durability and efficiency, the company has built long-term partnerships across global markets.

ESG in Hedson´s DNA
At Hedson, sustainability is part of how we design, build, and support our workshop equipment every day. As a Swedish industrial company with longstanding employees and close customer relationships, we believe responsibility starts with durable, reliable, and energy-efficient solutions: Our infrared and UV curing systems from IRT reduce energy use and process times compared to conventional methods. Drester’s spray gun cleaners and wheel washers help workshops minimize hazardous waste and chemical exposure, improving both the environment and working conditions. Herkules lifts enhance ergonomics, making heavy lifting safer and reducing strain on personnel.

“Sustainability is not an afterthought – it’s built into every product we create.”
